The Korea Craft and Design Foundation(KCDF) is a public organization affiliated to the Korean Ministry of Sports, Culture and Tourism.
KCDF is the main body that promotes the craft and design culture of Korea. The objective of the organization is to improve people’s way of life through Korea’s rich cultural heritage in craft and design. For many years we have focused on promoting our cultural assets both inside Korea and also internationally. We organize exhibitions domestically and internationally, promote young makers and develop craft and design related products. We work across many boundaries from artistic expressions, reinterpreting traditional skills, researching on craft materials,
preserving cultural heritage and developing entrepreneurship.
At Korea360, the Korean Promotion Pavilion in Dubai, we proudly present the works of 12 Korean artisans. Showcasing pieces crafted from ceramics, hanji (Korean traditional paper), wood, lacquer, and other materials, this exhibition seamlessly blends traditional values with contemporary aesthetics. In Dubai, where tradition and modernity coexist, we invite you to experience the brilliance of Korean craftsmanship.

"The Silent Language : A Monologue of Craft"
The scorching sun burns like a giant furnace, casting its heat over everything in its path. In this sweltering heat, the theme 'Beyond Boundaries' shimmers like a distant mirage. In this unfamiliar space where tradition and modernity coexist in a delicate harmony, Korean crafts break free from their old shells and venture into the unknown.
Long ago, East Asia and Central Asia shared cultures and blossomed arts along the radiant Silk Road. Yet, beyond this glittering path, invisible boundaries lie hidden. The barriers of language, unfamiliar customs, and the deeply ingrained perception of 'us' and 'them' often clipped the wings of artistic freedom of artists.
In this exhibition, Korean craft artists, rooted in that shared history, present the unique beauty of Korean craftsmanship to the world. Works that blend traditional techniques with modern sensibilities reinterpret cultural identities of East Asia and Central Asia, shattering those rigid boundaries and offering new perspectives.
Beyond Boundaries is not simply a space to display Korean craft. Through this exhibition, Korean craftspeople transcend their own limitations, sharing new inspirations, encountering diverse cultures of the world, and constantly evolving. It signifies communication beyond boundaries, hinting at a new future created together by people from different cultural backgrounds.
The works born from encounters beyond boundaries reveal the harmonious beauty of tradition and modernity, East and West. This inspires dreams of a beautiful future where cultural diversity is respected through crafts, and people from different backgrounds create together.
Beyond Boundaries carries a warm message aimed at a future where all the cultures of the world communicate and merge, transcending the artistic boundaries of Korean crafts, and further, the world. Through this exhibition, we can once again confirm the infinite possibilities of crafts and hold onto the hope for a future we create together.
